Sponichi of Japan has published the information that Sint-Truiden FC of Belgium has successfully recruited the Vietnamese striker Nguyen Cong Phuong.
After Cong Phuong terminated early his contract with Incheon United, HAGL confirmed that the striker will continue his football career abroad. Specifically, Cong Phuong will weigh up a move to Europe for 1 year under a football club which is yet to be revealed.
Word around the rumour mill was that his next destination would be Clement Foot 63. However, according to the latest information from Sponichi newspaper (Japan), Sint-Truiden FC playing in the Bundesliga will be the answer for the question has always been curious so far.
This newspaper affirmed: "On June 29, Sint-Truiden FC had the signature of Vietnamese player Nguyen Cong Phuong. According to a related source, this information will soon be published in Vietnam".
Writing about Cong Phuong, Sponichi showed impression with the Vietnamese striker:
"Although only being 1m68 tall, Cong Phuong is extremely dangerous with his technique and ability to play football. He is often called 'Vietnamese Messi'. Cong Phuong used to play in Japan for Mito Hollyhock color. Although there are not many opportunities to be shown, Cong Phuong has improved a lot after being there.”
According to Sponichi, Sint-Truiden FC is planning to expand the market as well as seeking more talents in Asia, and Cong Phuong has reached the "target" of this team for his brilliant performances in the 2019 Asian Cup.
